Welcome to The Unrefined Kitchen! I hope this website and blog can be a helpful resource. At this point in time, my focus will be on posting recipes that are Grain-Free, Gluten-Free, Refined Sugar-Free, Paleo-Friendly and Dairy-Free (or have dairy-free options).

The ingredients I use may be somewhat foreign to some of you if you haven’t had to live with dietary restrictions…relax–I was there once as well! I LOVE to bake and I love sugar. Switching to cooking and baking without grains or refined sugars can be challenging and frustrating–but don’t give up! I hope this can be a helpful tool to those of you who are looking for healthier recipes. All of the ingredients should be available at health food stores, but actually most of the ingredients are available in regular grocery stores.

As I mentioned above, I love to bake. Keep that in mind as I post recipes…I really don’t eat cookies and brownies as my main course…at least most of the time. I just love experimenting with new and healthier ways to make things that I grew up with and love to eat.
